In 2005 I graduated from Rhodes University in Grahamstown with a degree in Fine Art and my practical major in Photography. So it's really no surprise that I'm inspired by history, the Classics and traditional art.
Home is in Craighall, Johannesburg with my husband Dean and a bunch of house plants. I run for Pirates Road Running as a way to offset my serious sweet tooth!
I'm outdoorsy and an adventurer and love to travel. I've photographed weddings and families across South Africa: from Pretoria to Paarl, Cullinan to Gqeberha, Cape Town, Durbs and the KZN North Coast, and further afield in Ponta Malongane, Harare and Victoria Falls.
I have a documentary-style approach to my work and a genuine love for capturing the real, the raw, the honest, the candid.

Hey, I'm Leigh
"Home is wherever I'm with you" is the perfect way to describe my adventures with Dean. We spent our Honeymoon in 2018 in Spain - going to watch Barcelona at the Camp Nou, exploring the streets of Granada, Cordoba and Seville, and spending time with family in Torrevieja.
Locally we love the KZN North Coast and the Drakensburg and did our first roadtrip through Swaziland in August 2019.

All my friends joke that "I run for fun". Truth is, running really is a joy for me. It's how I re-set and clear my head after long hours editing, and how I keep fit for being on my feet all day shooting.
I started taking my running seriously in 2020, and now have more than 10 marathons and 3 ultra-marathons ticked off my list. It's my goal to one day run the Comrades with my Dad, who has 39 of them under his belt!

PROUDEST RUNNING MOMENT: Completing my first ultramarathon marathon (Two Oceans 56k in 2025).
