What kinds of images can I expect from my Corporate Portraits shoot?

Corporate Portraits can extend beyond just head and shoulders images to seated and waist up images too.

This post is a guide to give you some ideas of the kinds of images you can expect to receive from your session with me. These were all taken at my preferred studio location: Studio Alora in Parktown North, Johannesburg.

The main studio wall is grey. It’s always the starting point for our sessions. The grey is a great neutral that forms the perfect backdrop for traditional head and shoulders portraits, as well as waist up images. The first part of your shoot with me will be the typical “business portraits” – we’ll work through a series of standing poses and then do some seated options.

The middle image in the set above is a darker grey backdrop with a cooler tone than the studio walls. I also have a white backdrop – with additional lighting it photographs pure white. It’s another popular choice for headshots.

For the second part of the shoot, we’ll use natural light. As time is limited during Express Headshots, we may not be able to shoot in all the areas at the studio, but you will receive at least one natural light option. Please note that the light in the studio does change during the course of the day and depending on the weather.

We may repeat poses with both the flash and natural light set-ups and in different outfits. Ultimately the goal is to give you a wide variety of content to choose from. You don’t need to stress about posing either – I’ll guide you the whole way through the session!

More relaxed, lifestyle portraits photographed in natural light.

The couch is great for lifestyle portraits that are more relaxed. It can also be moved around to different areas in the space as needed.

Alora does have some basic furniture and plants that can be styled in different ways. The furniture, feature painted wall in black, and the bird wall paper that appear in this post are current at the time of writing. The studio does however change their decor from time to time, so items featured in this post may not always be available. Check in with me prior to booking so we can confirm everything that you’d like for your session is available.

I really love Alora for it’s versatility. You can also give the studio a follow on Instagram. Their behind-the-scenes and monthly highlight reels and give a great glimpse into the space!

The studio fee for Alora is included in your booking with me. If you would like to bring in additional styling elements or shoot at another location or on-site in your office / workspace, an additional fee may be applicable.
